Questions & Answers for FastTrack® Rails

Question

Holes in FastTrack Rail don't align with wall studs?

The holes on the FastTrack Rail are 12" apart. Wall studs are typically 16" apart. Wouldn't it be more useful to place the holes 8" or 16" apart? Maybe even 4". More holes increases chances of hitting more studs while placing it where you need it to go.

By my estimation, if the hole are every 12in, then they will line up with the center of the stud every 14 feet. The Experts' suggestion here is not helpful. Rubbermaid needs to conform to building standards.

It is suggested to install the FastTrack Closet Rail into as many studs as possible. Where a stud is not available, the rail should be installed using a drywall anchor.

We do not have a smaller rail available, however, it can be cut to size. Many retailers will cut the closet products for you.

Is there a trick to attaching the tightmesh shelving?

I have the 3R16 Pantry kit, and I cannot get the shelving attached. So far, I'm not impressed with this product.
