Questions & Answers for Rod Endcaps

Question

Closet Opening Walls

Every closet I have ever seen has a little wall extension on either end (about 10") that frames the outer edges of the closet opening. This means that you can't really use the whole back of the closet to mount drawers, or whatever, because those little front walls will keep you from being able to open them. How do you use that space? You never show that in closet designs.

From your description, we believe you are referring to the space that is found when the door opening is not as large as the entire closet (leaving wall space to the right and left of the opening). Depending on the depth of your closet, this space can prevent drawers or baskets from opening/extending fully.

It is suggested to use this closet space for hanging clothes or shelf space.
