I use this product everyday to take hot chocolate or hot tea to work. It fits perfectly under our hot beverage maker. Granted it doesn't keep it hot for hours like insulated cups do but it works for me from the time I put the hot beverage in it to the time I finish drinking it which is about an hour.

answer 2
No. It's not made for hot beverages. Would be too hot to hold since it's not insulated, contents would get cold fast without insulation, may melt the container a little which may compromise the leak-proof seal. Best to buy a travel thermos for hot beverages.

I wash the bottle on the top shelf of the dishwasher. The top fits into the cutlery holder in my dishwasher, so I slip it in there.

Question

Will premium chug bottles leak?

Will the Premium Chug Water Bottles leak? I say it in the store but their is no gasket in the neck. I know the regular old Chug bottles will leak if the gasket is not in the neck. I want to purchase the new bottle but am afraid of water leakage.

Question

Please can you tell me about the plastic in the Premium Chug Bottles?

I have the 20oz Premium Chug Bottles and love the design, but I am worried that the white cap is made from #7 plastic and that the bottle itself does not have a number on it. According to an FAQ answer, the whole bottle is #7, though the bottle top on mine is labeled #5. So, here are my questions: When a bottle is labeled as BPA free does that also include all the parts of the lid? Is the #7 plastic really BPA free? I have read that #7 plastic are the ones that have BPA in them; I used to own the Premier containers which are also #7 plastic and are not BPA free. How are some #7's BPA free and others are not?

Thanks for your help,

The Premium Chug Bottle and lid are BPA Free. When labeled BPA Free, it is the entire product. The bottles are manufactured using a material called Tritan while the lid is manufactured using Polypropylene. The recycle code #7 means OTHER. This indicates that the plastic used to manufacture the item is not a plastic type 1-6. Some #7's may contain BPA while others do not. The Premier containers with the black lids were made out of a Polycarbonate plastic, our Premium Chug Bottles along with the Premier containers with the red lids are made out of Tritan which are all BPA Free.

The water bottles are not intended for use with or in boiling water. Note that plastic will soften and become flexible when warm, sometime resulting in permanent damage.

Question

My bottles seemed to have absorbed odors that I can't get rid of.

I normally put in dishwasher, but can't get rid of soapy taste, or if I've used with a flavored beverage, they take on that taste. Can I use bleach or baking soda, vinegar? Please let me know what works, as I don't want to pitch these and buy new.

The bottles can be washed with baking soda sprinkled on a clean damp sponge. For even tougher odors, just soak items in a solution of 4 tablespoons baking soda mixed with 1 quart warm water.

I bought one at a local store maybe 2 years ago. I love it and would love more because this one is getting kind of old. I have searched in every store I go to and online with every search engine and found 1 on ebay, that is it. Have they been discontinued that they are no where to be found?
