Rubbermaid Modular Canisters are a great solution to organizing your pantry. Remove those bags and boxes of pasta, cookies, chips, baking supplies, etc. and put your ingredients into Modular Canisters whose space efficient design maximizes shelf space. Lids snap tight for a secure seal to help keep items fresh. A comfortable grip allows for easy handling and graduation marks make measuring easy!
The canisters are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. In the microwave I always prefer NOT to keep the lid on just to be safe. Sometimes it can distort the tight seal in later uses. Instead I opt to use a thin paper plate or paper towel to prevent splatters and keep the moisture in the food. As for lids in the dishwasher and freezer, there is no problem at all.

The modular canisters are made of materials that are safe for use in the freezer, microwave and dishwasher; however, they are designed for dry food storage.
Are these containers air tight? Can weavels get into flour?
I want to store bulk food in a pantry as food prices are going up but I do not want to have the food get bugs(weavels) or others, getting into the food.
Weavels do not "come" into your flour. they are in the flour (and other products like rice, wheat germ, barley, cornmeal to name a few) out of the factory. They just hatch in your cupboards. For your own peace of mind, never look into the legal limits of contaniments allowed in flour. There are legal amounts of bugs, mouse droppings, hair and fecal matter allowed in most grain products.
The Modular Canisters 7M75 are BPA Free. For information regarding Bisphenol-A and our products, please click on the link located near the right hand corner of our homepage, “Learn about BPA”.
Our food storage containers and canisters are designed with a tight seal, however because plastic is flexible we do not make the claim that our containers are air tight.
Don't need the whole set, just the 21cup size, which I was able to buy earlier in the year, with no problem. Now all out of stock or just not being carried in same stores and online. Are the individual containers being discontinued? If they are what will replace them. If they are not, when will the stores stock them again. Out of stock at Walmart, CVS, Meijer, etc. Thanks.
I was able to buy my individual pieces online from PeachSuite.com.

DO you carry a "spaghetti" canister in the red-lidded, modular bulk storage
I have my pantry organized using these bulk storage containers. The only one that does not coordinate is the one that holds my spaghetti noodles. It bugs me!
Just bought 2 of the modular cereal cannisters, but they have a plastic odor. I tried to get rid of it by soaking in baking soda & water, but some of the smell is still there. Any suggestions??
