In order to assist you we will need to identify the model number of your item. Before calling, please be sure to locate the model number or UPC number from the label, or the molded in part number found on the item.

The holes in the lid are designed for a lid tether that can be used to secure the lid to the base of the can. This is not included with the can. The cinch for the trash bag is located in the handle of the can and it will allow you to put the trash bag into this location to hold it in place.

The can does offer an option to tether the lid, however it does not come with a strap nor do we sell a strap, this is something you would purchase yourself if you choose to use this feature.

Some items carry a lifetime warranty, effective January 1, 2001. All products that carry the lifetime warranty state “Lifetime Warranty” on the label or packaging.

If this product is used in normal household duties as intended and not used in commercial or industrial applications, and fails due to defects in material or workmanship, you may submit a claim as follows:

Within 4-6 weeks of receipt of your claim, Rubbermaid will issue either a check or a certificate that may be redeemed at any retailer that stocks a current, similar Rubbermaid product or toward the purchase of any other Rubbermaid product. The value of the refund will reflect the average retail price of the warranted product.

The #5H38 Trash Can is made of # 4 Low Density Polyethylene plastic.

The trash cans are not intended for water storage and have not been tested for this use. We do apologize that we cannot provide further assistance regarding water storage in our trash cans.
