FIRST, I will answer to JLewis. From my perspective, we have to stop looking from the angle that we can get a new garbage for the same price as the lid. As consumers, we have behave inteligently about the overconsumption. When we purchase a garbage, we should make sure it will last for the maximum number of years.

SECOND: I think a company like Rubbermade should definitively make sure that lid replacements are available at least in one store in each big cities. That is part of what should be their intitiatives in order to contribute to an 'greener' practices.

Let's face it: What will go wrong with this garbage over the years? Most likely it will be a lost of lid (due to high wind, or stolen). Or get damage because a car runs over it.

Question

What size liners are needed for the 20 gallon Roughneck trash can?

There are a variety of liner/trash bag sizes for garbage cans. Why not put the size on the can during manufacture? It would be of help for those of us that go out infrequently, to purchase liners for different size containers. I hate getting home to find out I have some that are too small.

On the product labels, it is indicated what size garbage bag should be used with the trash cans. For the #2892 20 gallon Roughneck, we suggest a 30 gallon trash bag.

Rubbermaid Home Products does not test or fire rate their products. The Roughneck product line, for example, is intended for home use and is not tested for commercial applications that would require a fire rating.

Question

Will this be available in a smaller size in the future?

I love the durability of this trashcan and how the tight lid will keep smells locked in the trashcan. Does rubbermaid have any plans on making a line like this for indoor use? It would be great for the kitchen if slightly smaller (13-15 gallons). The spring loaded lids and step trashcans always seem to break and I would like a more durable trashcan with a tight lid to keep out smells.
