yes it does come in red I have a red one and love it!

I shake open the empty bag, slide it into the can, lift up the wire farthest from myself ( a few inches) and with both hands, fold the far side of the bag OVER the wire, hold the edge of the bag in place, and snap the wire into place. Then I put my arms down into the open bag and push the bag open all the way down inside, then hold the closest edge of the bag with both hands and fold the bag edge OVER the wire towards myself, hold the whole bag edge in place and snap the wire into place. It will not show on the outside of the can when you close the lid. It doesn't matter if the bag is not held in place on the sides of the wire. I use drawstring bags; the edge is easy to hold and fold over the wire.

I'm not sure about the lid itself, but you can find the whole trash container at Home Depot.

Try Home Depot. That's where we purchased ours about four months ago!
