Question

sealing a exterior storage bench

I want to use a RM exterior storage bench to keep earthquake supplies. While is is rain resistant, its assembly leaves large gaps where the side pegs fit into the holes in the base and in the vertical joints between panels for insect penetration. Is there a way of sealing the unit to prevent this?

Most of our products are made from polyethylene and polypropylene. One of the features of these plastics is that they are easy to clean because materials do not adhere well to them. Unfortunately, this property prevents adhesives or paints from sticking well. We know of no way to change this fundamental property of the plastic at the point of use.

The Deck Box comes with two plastic hinge pins as well as two plastic lid straps to keep the lid secure.
