Handles cracked, how to fix?

All three handles on this basket have cracked on one side. How can I fix them?

Duct tape works badly. Gaffers tape works OK. It sticks just fine to the plastic and helps keep the crack from getting worse. Too bad this is so poorly designed though... it should be more robust.

We do not manufacture replacement handles for our laundry baskets. The type of plastic we use when manufacturing prevents adhesives from sticking well to the surface of the item. We know of no way to change this fundamental property of the plastic at the point of use.

Do you still make a laundry basket with metal reinforcement under the rim?

I have two of these baskets that belonged to my mother-in-law from way back when. They are starting to deteriorate and I would like to replace them. They are great.

We do not currently manufacture a laundry basket with metal reinforcements; our laundry baskets are all plastic.
