Question

Does all of the Premier sets BPA free

I have a couple of pieces of the premier sets with grey lids that have a code of 7 on the bottom (no where states it's BPA free). Is this set BPA free? I have had this set for a few years and now I'm worried that it's not BPA free

In Fall 2009, we introduced new versions of our stain-resistant Premier food storage containers. This version of Premier has a BPA-free stamp on the bottom of the container, differentiating it from the earlier version.

Question

black, red, and glass

I have the black premier set and am looking to add to them. Will the red and the black sets intermix? Also, I love the fact you have added glass. I would like to add some of these, but again, will the lids all be interchangable? By observation I assume the glass and plastic will not stack, but the plastic sets (black and red) do they stack together?

The lid color was changed on the Premier lids when Rubbermaid changed the product material of the container. The new containers were offered in a black lid at one point in time but have since been discontinued. At this time there are no plans to re-introduce the black lids into the marketplace.

answer 2
For the Premier containers, the lids are top-rack dishwasher safe. The containers and lids are made of microwave safe materials that can be used to reheat foods to a temperature comfortable for eating. These containers are not intended for cooking.

Remove lid (may place loosely on top to prevent splattering) to allow steam to vent when microwaving. Sealing plastic lids while heating may create extra pressure causing the lid to melt, warp, or create excessive steam build up.

Question

How to remove odor

We have had our set for 5 months. We use them for everything and now the gaskets, all of them, have this horrible odor and we cannot get rid of it. Do you have any suggestions on HOW to get this smell out? We have tried soaking them in vinegar, soaking them in a diluted bleach mixture, microwwaved them, and now we are trying lemon juice concentrate. Please help.

To remove odors, wash them with baking soda sprinkled on a clean damp sponge. For even tougher odors, just soak items in a solution of 4 tablespoons baking soda solution in 1 quart warm water.

The older style Flex 'n Seal containers will not work with the Premier lids; whereas the newest Flex 'n Seal containers will. The current Flex 'n Seal have an identical lid to the Premier but are a light shade of blue.

To verify compatibility, we would need part numbers from the bases of the Flex 'n Seal containers. Please contact our Consumer Service Department at 888-895-2110 Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ET for assistance.

If your Premier does not have a BPA-free stamp on the bottom of the container, it is made of polycarbonate and contains BPA.

Question

Why have the 3 and 5 qt size Premier food storage containers developed cracks in the bottom?

After purchasing a 20 piece set of Rubbermaid Premier containers with the red lids in early 2011, over the past year all 4 of the 3 and 5 qt container vessels have developed cracks in the bottom. None were used in the freezer, but microwaved and washed in a dishwasher regularly. Are these cracks to be expected in normal daily use?

With Rubbermaid Premier, you'll never lose your lid again since Easy Find lids snap to the bottom of the container and to each other. Cabinets stay neat and organized because the graduated container sizes stack neatly inside each other taking up less space in your cabinet.
