The container has a 5 on the bottom which I believe means it is made of Polypropylene. You have to ask elsewhere to find out if BPA is a common adulterant in that type of plastic.

the 1.5 gallon Flex and Seal is 10.5 inches tall, 11.25 inches wide and 5.75 inched thick at the widest point.

10-1/2" tall, 5-1/2" wide at the top. These containers will hold two regular boxes of cereal with room to spare. If your pruchase, make sure you rinse them out first.

Is it possible to order just the replacement lid for the cereal keeper.
I have 5 cereal keepers currently and 2 of them have the old style lid. It is white and it does not seal very well. The cereal tends to get stale.
I would really like to just purchase the replacement lid and not the entire item.

The 5156 canister has not been discontinued and can be viewed on the website by typing the model number in our search box. This will bring up the product information page and under the large photos are numbers one and two. Click on the number two which will change the photo of the product shown to the 5156 canister. Product specifications and where to buy can also be found on the product information page for the item.
