Holding up to 30 cans plus ice, the 24 Qt Cooler has superior thermal retention to keep food and beverages cold. A top swing handle makes it easy to carry. Stain and odor resistant, the cooler has an easy-to-clean liner in case unfortunate spills occur.
My family and I used a Coleman cooler on our trip to Illinois in July. We had to drain and refill the ice 2x's on the way from Fl to Il. My daughter is on medication that needs to be kept near freezing temps so this is a BIG deal that a cooler keep cold as long as possible. I also cannot get the mechanisms for her shots wet, even though wrapped and bagged the bags leaked 1 time. Does this particular cooler keep ice from melting much? It was a 22 hr car ride & a/c was on, so we were kind of disappointed the ice needed replaced so much.
This cooler has not been tested to keep ice or products cold for a particular amount of time.
For our five-day performance coolers (2A92 and 2C09), we do suggest that the cooler be brought to room temperature at least 24 hours prior to use. Also, everything should be "cooled" approximately 1 hour before leaving and the ice chest should be kept in a shaded area (placement inside a car trunk or in direct sunlight will impede performance).
