Questions & Answers for Sliding Wire Basket

Question

Why isn't the distance for the support rails included on the box or in the instructions??

A customer is reliant on a sales associate to know how far apart the rails need to be for this basket. I am disappointed in the instructions and info!

We appreciate your interest in our HomeFree closet organization accessories.

This information can be found on the box near the item number. Our packaging states "uprights not included-uprights must be 22" apart". This information is not given in the assembly instructions for the basket, as it is designed to be added to an installed system.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to answer your question.

I got mine at my local hardware store. In fact, that is where I first saw the baskets, but they were out of stock (must be popular) so I ordered the baskets online direct from RubberMaid. The brackets were like $7.50. Very sturdy w/ screws included.

The white 12" HomeFree bracket that the basket and track attach to can be purchased at Lowe's, model # 3N02. The track that supports the basket is not sold separately.

Question

Type of guides/slides

I have seen some descriptions that describe the guides as "ball bearing" and others that just describe them as "strong." Has there been a change in the product or just a change in the wording of the description? Thanks!

not sure of the technical description for the construction of the 'gliders', but mine feel like they are sliding on lubricated silicon - smooth as a baby's backside, but not slippery.

The Sliding Wire Basket does not have a ball-bearing glide. There is a wire rim on the basket that sits "inside" the provided glides, allowing it to slide back and forth.

Question

How far apart should the vertical uprights be placed for this?

I got the kit and have just the normal shelves hanging, and it seems fine. It seems that this requires an exact spacing for the uprights to work right. How far apart should these be placed from the inside of the left upright to the inside of the right upright?

24-1/8" outside edge - outside edge. Be sure hanger holes line up level for a straight hang. I learned the hard way.
