The Rubbermaid FastTrack garage organization system is one of the easiest garage systems on the market to install. There is no need for additional hardware because everything needed for a safe and secure installation is included with the product. The FastTrack rail is the only part required to attach to the wall.

To install the rail, simply locate your studs, drill pilot holes, insert wall anchors, and mount rail into the wall using the screws provided. Then, just snap hooks and accessories to the rail as desired.

For more detailed instructions, please see our assembly instruction page located here.

Yes, the Fast Track re-designed accessories and rails are compatible with the older Fast Track rails and accessories. However, if you are using the Fast Track uprights for shelving, you can not mix and match the uprights, you must either use all of the older Fast Track uprights or all of the new re-designed uprights. Both of the uprights will fit on either the old rails or new rails.

Install the rail according to the instructions and use sheet metal screws specified below in steel studs (assuming 5/8” drywall; if ¾” drywall new anchors will need to be purchased – see ¾” drywall installation). Also since the product was not designed for this wall type (drywall over plywood), we cannot guarantee the maximum load capacities of the 48” or 84” rails in this scenario.
